Catching Up

Yesterday was Orsem Day 1 and I did a lot of work for Log. Today, I'm stuck here at home with a bad cold and a sore throat. Thanks to the weather!

We had a going-away dinner for Sir Ely last night at Shakey's Katipunan. He's leaving for Princeton to earn his doctorate. Talk about brilliance! As always, it was fun being with Sir Ely and the Psychos (Annika, Anj, Pau, Paula, Kim, JB, Raymonde, Jappy, Marlon, Joey, Patrick, Ling, Marco, Rian, JC, and Jap!). We feasted on thin crust pizza, chicken, and mojos. :)

Had a drinking sesh with Anj, Paula, and Raymonde at Cantina. Fun fun time with Raymonde when Anj and Paula left. We went home at midnight (curfew!!!) and had a 4-hour (nerdy) phone conversation. Good times, Chie. Good times.

I really missed my friends. Thank God for yesterday. :)

Today was 'flashback day' with two of my best friends.

I finally got to spend half a day with my best friend Flor. She's been really busy with school and hospital duties ('cause she's a nursing student), and we barely saw each other these past few months. I was still in my night dress (actually, it was just a biiiig shirt --> ok, overshare!) playing some classical pieces when she got to my house. We went to the hospital to visit our good ole friend Jeng (aka JR, Conrad, Christopher... bwahaha!) who just had an appendectomy. We stayed there for about an hour and we reminisced our puberty and early adolescent days...

♠ Flor, Teddi, and I, calling up guys and pretending to be Camille, Audrey, and Amy
♠ Going out at 6 am to jog around the village but ending up at my house to eat shitloads of longganisa, bacon, daing na bangus, and fried rice for breakfast
♠ Jeng, Alvin, and Vincent, sending drobo messages to our pagers (yes, remember the 'pager' era?)
♠ Jeng, showing up at our barkada swimming party wearing a barong
♠ Having 3-way conferences in the wee hours of the morning
♠ Wearing neutral gray shirts at the opening ceremony of the sportsfest to stay neutral 'cause the boys might notice which team we were siding with
♠ Setting up a water fight against the D boys, who claimed victory with the help of their scooters
♠ Jeng, formulating his hypotheses and theories on our puppy love stories
♠ Jeng, having to endure our 4-year infatuation with *toot* and *toot*

and a whole lot more. :)

One of our friends is giving birth in less than a month, and we're throwing her a baby shower on Sunday. Flor and I decided to go to the mall to buy baby stuff, but we ended up having dinner instead. It was fun talking to her again. I realized we went through the same things and it felt good that someone understood what I had experienced. MY BEST FRIEND IS BACK! No, scratch that. I NEVER LOST MY BEST FRIEND. ♥

Sleepover after the baby shower! Whoopee! I love my friends... sisters! :D

Je suis en train de boire du thé nature et je ne peux pas dormir. Cet après-midi, je suis allée au Metrowalk chez mon frère et j'ai acheté 11 DVDs ! Je suis allée à ma maison à 18h00. Après le dîner, j'ai regardé le film Wicker Park. Ou la la, je pense qu'il est très magnifique ! Haha ! J'étudierai pour le NMAT demain avec mon amie Sharky, et quand nous finissons, je regarderai les autres films :)

Ou la la, j'ai mal à la tête. Est-ce que je dois dormir maintenant? Mais je veux finir le quatrieme episode de Grey's Anatomy. Hahaha !

Mon piano, je manque ! Je le manque beaucoup ! Et ma guitare que mon frère est abîmé hahaha. Alors, au lieu de jouer le piano et la guitare, je chanterai beaucoup journalier ! Hahaha !

I just read a few of the latest posts in my LJ, and I noticed how lazy and boring I've been. All I get to post are lyrics and things that appear to be ambiguous to most of my readership. (Haha feeler!)

That's why I'm making this entry! Haha.

Anyway, there's something that keeps me busy these days... I do recording now. Yes, complete with the much needed equipment, I record my singing and guitar/piano playing. Haha, my friend got me hooked! It's really really fun, especially for those who are mad about themselves (kidding, haha). No, but seriously, isn't it interesting to know how you sound when you're singing? It really is, I tell you! :D

I redecorated my room, and it's all blue! Woohoo! To hell with pink! Hahaha.

I'm super psyched that I'm taking French 3 this coming sem. Oh, and there's this scholarship in Ateneo that I can take. I just have to pay for the tuition fee (Ateneo tuition!) and plane fare, and I'm off to France! The scholarship lasts for four months, I get to stay at a dorm, and I get to travel all by myself! My only worry is that I might not have much time to prepare for med school. But the thought of staying in the land of baguettes for four months is enough to make me put off one year before med!!! *sigh*

I've made the right decision to join ANI this year. At first, I was worried that I might not be able to handle three subjects and ANI this summer. But now, I find myself wishing that I can turn back time. I've formed real friendships with the kids despite the limited time we've had (one hour for every meeting, MWF, 6 weeks for the whole ANI sem!). I've learned so much about the reality of their social stature. I've realized how similar we all are regardless of social and economic factors, that they are living almost the same kind of life I had when I was their age. All the ANI kids are a blessing in this world, and I hate it that we're going to part ways very soon. I'll miss them so much. :(

Gosh, this is so random, but who cares? I'm glad I'm back. :D
